Words of a Pilot
During a commercial airline flight an experienced Air Force Pilot was
seated next to a young mother with a babe in arms. When the baby began
crying during the descent for landing, the mother began nursing the
infant as discreetly as possible.
The pilot pretended not to notice, and, upon disembarking, he gallantly
offered his assistance to help with the various baby-related items.
When the young mother expressed her gratitude, the pilot responded,
“Gosh, that’s a good looking baby, and he sure was hungry!”
Somewhat embarrassed, the mother explained that her pediatrician said
that the time spent on the breast would help alleviate the pressure in
the baby’s ears.
The Air Force Pilot sadly shook his head, and in true pilot fashion
exclaimed,
“And all these years, I’ve been chewing gum.”
Welcome to 2013!
We made it through the year when the world was supposed to end. A lot happened last year good and bad but toward the end of the year there sure was a lot of killing. Although the United States may be one of the best countries in the world we have a lot of violence. We are no longer a culture the respects one another. A matter of fact as a whole I am not sure that we respect anything. I mean don’t we deserve everything. I am entitled to whatever I want. If I don’t like something I won’t do it. This is what parents accept and teach their children. This has got to change! There should not be safe and unsafe neighborhoods. I should not have to worry where I go when I am in a foreign city.
In an age of texting and email we have lost our ability to communicate and deal with problems. I am not better than you and you are not better than me regardless of where we live and what we do for a living. We are only different. This has to be taught early.
I may make fun of people on here but believe me I will make fun of everyone and mean no disrespect. I believe that the more macho you act the less of a man you really are. Lets all try this year to relax a little more. Lets try to help people out a little more. Lets go out of our way to respect and get along with others regardless of their race, religion, sexual preferences, or wealth.
American culture teaches us to rush rush rush. In 2013 we should all try to take some time to have a nice glass of scotch, beer, or wine and cherish what we have. I try and do this at least once a week. Sometimes I add in a nice cigar! The point is I hope that you and me can have an amazing year and while we need to make an effort to spread the love we need to take care of ourselves and our love ones as well. As Micheal Jackson said “it’s all for love”.
